Ah man, time is racing ahead and it’s amazing after just having the mentality of postponing something here I am 2 months later. Anyway not sure where to begin, I’ll start of the present and move backwards (see how that goes). Well things are kinda cruisey at the moment with uni apart from my final year project. Seriously lost all motivated around a month ago and now full steam ahead towards the end of the semester.

A lot has changed since my last post, with me moving out of the hostel and into an apartment. It’s a lot quieter than the hostel in the sense I’m only involved in things only if I choose to be and not because of I’m just around. I don’t spend a large amount of time at uni and instead just hang out at home or organize to meet up with the guys. Also been hanging out a lot with another guy from Cyprus since we decided to rent a car together for the next few months. Good times, pretty mobile now getting around town and driving this beast around. So old school from the interior made from leatherish material and smelling like moth balls, but slowly where decking it out this any random pieces of junk we can find. We spend a whole afternoon walking to random clubs in town asking where they brought their disco ball and offering to buy it.

What else ..um done a few diving trips during the weekends , when to an awesome diving site where an old Japanese warship remains on the sea bed. Fantastic experience, the whole place was full of marine animals and I enjoyed maneuvering around different sections of the ship. Also had a scary experience of my air supplying screwing up at 25 meters under water. Surprisingly I handed it well, probably knowing there were around 10 of us down there but still crazy stuff.

Been trying to prepare myself for next year, I wasn’t able to find a replace subject around here so the plan is to head over to London and find a university that has a similar subject. I don’t know why but only recently I really started trying to get on top of it. I guess a combination of things just got me thinking in a negative way but during the last 2 weeks I’ve been pro active about it. Got a few things moving now so I guess time will tell what will happen?

Nightlife still exists, whole crapp this reminds me. I bumped into two aussies from Melbourne that are studying in kuching as well ( different university) . Totally unexpected when the girl asked me where I abouts I lived she totally flipped out after I said sunbury. Geez, that’s screwed after she told me that she lived in goonny, seriously what are the orders of two people studying in a small city in Malaysia from the same town. So yeah , still going out during the weekend and even just dropping in quickly to Wednesday night to have a few drinks. Also with the car we try and mix it up a little by going to different places but lol we always end up back at grappa. Anyways that’s everything off the top of my head, so all is good ..

Back in Kuches after arriving last night from Kuala Lumpur. Just getting back into the swing of things and trying to organize my subjects for the semester. Still not totally sure if I’ll be able to finish the year over here but I’m starting to get my head around the idea anyways. Really enjoy the trip to KL with visiting all the major touristy areas like the Golden Triangle area where the twin towers are situated. Disappointing how you’re only able to visit the sky bridge which it is only one third the way up. The area is amazing with the interior of the building really nice and an awesome Asian food court inside ( always thinking about food). Berjaya Times Square which is pretty much a massive shopping center. With stuff being soo cheap I went crazy buying stuff with the girls help. Also the fact that I went to KL with no clothes to intentionally buy something, made it a must. Went on a fair Eye on Malaysia which is a ferris wheel overlooking the city. Afterwards spending 2 hours getting denied by taxi’s. Sunway city , apparently I’ve been told one person owns the entire district. It’s around 30 mins drive out of the city where there are shops , restaurants , hotels and an adventure park which we went to. Huge Water Park which was totally man-made, with a beach area.

3 days later …I started typing this blog but wanted to finish it at a later date. Moving right along,, today I caught up with my Iranian friends. The boys when back to Iran over the uni break and ended up returning with all their luggage full of food. I now have in my possession a few can’s of Iranian pistachio nuts and ended up spending the evening there home having shashi. ( For gezza – its just a massive bong ,, put the favored tobacco on the top with hot cols. Then you inhale thru a pipe connected to the water chamber. As you suck ,, the tobacco is heated by the coal .. ahh I check this out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shisha)

Also looking for a place to stay outside of uni. I ended up following a lead from Eddie’s parents to rent a house. It belongs to a guy who is a missionary who won’t be back for a while. The place isn’t close to uni but Eddie’s dad mention that I could rent one of their cars cheaply. (awesome) I’m trying to get things rolling , but with uni already started, its hard to find people willing to move out. Also being far away it’s a little bit of un known territory which amazingly people are worried about.. The next best things ,, is moving to the off campus accommodation. I just mentioned to somebody today that I was interested moving out and then knew of people needed a roommate in an apartment ( bunch of Srilankans) . So tomorrow I’ll check that out ,, ,, so yeah go a few things on the go .. That’s about it

The the australian's have left, so this is my first night here by myself.
Its the first time living in the hostel by myself and pretty much in a massive
city by myself. So I guess its a time to learn things for myself. Just came back
from dinner by myself and seriously its hard to fully enjoy this city with other
people's company. I ended up having shisha but without friends it isn't the same.
I realise everything about shisha is about hanging around with people and just talking
shit. After talking to people after the hostel after the other guys left I sat down with a
bunch of random's ( that I had seen before) what happened to my lady. Made me think ,
I really can just me people for short term and suddenly forget about them. I guess people
can tell am a person who likes long term ties which isn't the case in this environment. I've always known this but after living like this all this time its hard to change the habit. So after the aussie left in the taxi and hostel owner could see right thru me and understood how upset I was to see my friends were going and asked me afterwards if I wanted to move in a different room. I told him yes at first and then realised that I couldn't be stuffed packing up and that I was also going to leave the next day. But for the moment there I didn't really know what to do and I hate that ..

By now I expect myself to deal better with the situation and not cause myself to feel like this. After losing half a lung from smoking and spending a fair bit money the whole thing was for nothing. Also now after gong up to my room by myself had to lock the door and just reflect where I am. I felt empty ,, but I got my arse down stairs and try to start again .. anwyasy people I know are here so I going to socialise ,, god i'm shit

ALso i've had a few to drink so this will not make sense ,, but its my little notes anywyas

Hi all , I had a blog written up on my laptop at home. Describing my personal feelings and another stuff after the other aussies left for winter semester. Anywas to cut a long story short I ended up going to KL to meet up with the other aussie. Been a fantastic time , I had to resit an exam of tuesday morning. Managed to kill the exam with an hour to spare. Went around uni to re enroll for second semester. At the same time I had a next room meet moving in, where I had stuff all over the room. After enrolled and having to quickly dump all my stuff over my side of the room. It looked like a junk yard but ended to cleaning it up later on during the day. My room mate is pretty quiet, doesn't really have much to say and I try and get conversions going with him. Anyways after all that I had to catch my 6:30 flight to KL. Taxi was taking his time but luckily one of the facilities guy saw me waiting at the gate and ask me if I needed a lift somewhere ( awesome dude). The day was crazy ,, maded me thing about how i'll bored and won't to change things around . I'll going to try and live off campus ,, time to mix it with the local's .. if that makes sense. Anyways here I am in KL ,, been fantastic hanging out with claudia , bec, marcus and sally. Today me went to sunway lagoon ,, pretty much a disneyland in malaysia ,, awesome ,, day ,, anyways time to go out and wake up the girls

What’s happening? Sam left today, which makes the last of first semester’s gang. I won’t lie that I felt really sad NOT good riddance :) ( not good in saying goodbye’s) . Of course I’ll see everybody again, but it’s more that those times are over. yeah? But change is good and life continues. Anyways, had a massive week with the rainforest festival on during the weekend. Plenty of drinking and dancing happening. On Friday night Sam and I began the festivities by spiking our coke on the bus ride. Decided to catch a bus from the city out to the venue at Damai. Got inside and headed straight for the main stage. Awesome setting with the stage surrounded by lit up forest trees. Meet a whole bunch of random’s which most probably were from uni but there were so many of them. Probably also they had a bit to drink and had seen Sam and I around uni, they weren’t shy to come and say hello (and yes I did get a few people asking where Dan lol) Dam you Dan if your reading, you still keep hunting me. We thought the best way to stay would be to sleep on the beach. After hanging around the beach party, we were more than happy to crash on beach chairs alone side the beach. After having a few drinks that night, I had a bit of a dry throat. Apparently while Sam was having a baffa breakfast, he saw tourist taking photo’s of me. Because of my raggedy clothes, due to my shocking washing clothes technique. The fly zip comes down by itself and having warn red jogs, it sort of stood out. Anyways after learning our lesson the first night we decided not to do it again. Both Saturday and Sunday were the busiest with crowds around 8 thousand which was massive for the place. Awesome experience, great music and atmosphere. The crowd was great, mixture of different people from all around the world.

What else, umm court up with the other Aussie’s over here. There only here during the semester break. There doing one multimedia subject in 4 weeks, similar to summer semester. Diverse group of people but all nice :) We went out for ladies night. There are 7 aussie girls over here, so you can imagine the impression they have on locals that aren’t use to seeing so many. Also being a Wednesday night ( ladies night) the girls were getting free drinks and dishing them off to us guys. Also met up with a bunch of English students at the same nightclub. ( felt weird being in a room of non Asia girls) but hah when aren't I.

Guess nothing else has been happening. I need a kick up the bum and get cracking on my final year project. Hopefully it all works out, I want to head off to London at the end of the year. I guess now is the best opportunity to get my programming skills up to scratch hehe yeah sure. Also the fact that at the moment, things don’t look promising in organize some alternative to complete one engineering subject that isn’t available here. I’ve been told I will have to wait until second semester next year. I’m really concerned and worried about it but things happening for a reason I guess. I’ll just try and do the best I can, enjoy my time here and see what happens. I’m enjoying kuches and in the big scheme of things, much worse things could go wrong.

Today I have a weird experience after Sam left. I felt like talking to someone, so what do I do, went to see my coordinator. Started talking about strange stuff, mostly philosophical and I was pretty spaced out ( probably thought I was on drugs) . He practically said I looked worned out and my focus drops in and out mainly ( lol no shit). Personally I know what he means tho; I know really how much I’m putting in and really what I should. But he doesn’t fully understand my situation and my expectation of what I want to get out of the year. Whatever ,, probably made me feel worse by the end of it .. hah .Also I get my results later on today.. again I’m nervous ( which is always the case anwyas) I think I did pretty well except for one subject .. I didn’t do enough practical during the semester and got majorly stuck with the exam. So that’s it.. I’m doing well, might go gaiving (diving) on Sunday. The others are off to panang for the weekend.

Change of plans, so for anyone that thought I was at some extravagant island it wasn’t the case. Anyways I decided to stay back because I had to finish off a few things back at uni. Been a weird week finishing exams with only me and Sam around. After living with a group of people and seeing them every day during the past 6 months to then suddenly go, they were really good times. Other than that things seem to be rapping up. Uni is over for another semester, so I now have a month off. I want some traveling to happen, plans to maybe go and watch the soccer in Bangkok, drop pass the parhentian island, or go up to Sabah not really sure.
Had an interesting experience with a person just opening my door while I was sleeping last night. Because I was up late that night study, I was completely dazed out and really couldn’t say much when they came in. All I could hear was that they were confiscating something, only to find later on that the shesha was missing. Anyways later in the day we had to have a meeting with administration “regarding the incident”. I still don’t fully understand but apparently were not allowed to have it because it could be used with drugs, which isn’t the case and that people might get the wrong impression. Two hours later we ended up talking about how to be careful when going out during the night. Also apparently how we were a bad batch of Australian students which caused them a lot of problems. Personally I think the whole thing has been to bit of miss communication and that things have been exaggerated and blown out of proportion. All we were pretty adventurous which sometimes became noticeable but we didn't imposed and effected other people. Once thing that sucked, apparently I was nominated for a sponsorship and apparently now with this shesha business it might be revoked which is a shame.

Anyways I’m happy to stay here for another semester. I’m still not sure what I will be doing next year which makes me feel alittle unsettled. I guess all these years I knew pretty much exactly what would be happening the following year. Also the fact of not knowing if I will be able to complete my degree over here makes me have to consider to completely different scenario’s which might occur. Its nothing serious and really just sits in the back of my mind but the main thing is that I’m enjoying myself and do find the experience great. So really I’ve got nothing to complain about :)

Well, 3 exams over one more left. I finish my last exam on the 29th of June only to leave that afternoon for KL. Not much been happening during the last few weeks with exams. On Saturday we went out to complete my last open water dive at a different island off the west tip of Sarawak close to the Indonesia board. The island is surrounded by a coral reef so we anchored on a sand bed just before the reef started. Did a few exercises and then we start looking around the reef ( fantastic experience).

Because my exams got pushed a day forward from the 28th to the 29th I won’t be staying in KL for a night with all the other guys ( which leave on the 28th). Instead I’m leaving on the 29th only to get a connecting flight at KL to Kota Bharu and staying there for a night. I’ll need a boat to get to the perhentian island but because I’m arriving too late so I’ll have to stay in town until the morning. I think we have 5 days before we have to catch a flight from kota bharu back to KL. That will give us enough time to do whatever we want and maybe visit neighboring islands if we want.
