It’s Saturday morning and I find myself at 1.24 am just sitting in front of my laptop not knowing what to do. Feeling tired but can’t sleep; maybe a little study wouldn’t go astray but decided to go for my good old fashion blog. Been a weird afternoon where I finished class at 8:30pm then went to dinner with Eddie. We picked up an Australia in the city with his wife and young baby boy. These people are staying at Eddie’s house for a few days because they are on their way to Indonesia to help out with an orphan shelter which Eddie’s parents are involved with. While going out Eddie’s car decided to bomb out with the clutch leaking brake fluid. Then just before while driving me back home with his parents car the battery decided to blow up literally so managing to kill two cars in one night. Had another experience that seriously scared the hell out of me this week. On Wednesday morning I had to get dashed to the hospital. It all began on Tuesday night where I was up late, till the early hours of Wednesday morning where I went to sleep around 2:00am. While sleeping I woke up to turn off my air-con, rolling around searching for the remote, which I could faintly see on my desk. So I got up to turn it off, pressed the off button and placed it back onto the desk. Ready to just fall asleep and half dazed I jumped back into bed on my side ready to pull the covers back over me, when I felt this massive pain on the side of my rib. With the pain I saw a bright flash of light in the complete darkness in my room. Using my hands to search for the pain and I discovered a pair of scissor handles. Slowly moving up to the tip I got to the pivot point where is was fully opened but only feeling one blade. It wasn’t painful but I just wanted to get the dam thing out, so slowly started pulling the blade out. After removing it, I placed my other hand over the area, only to see in the darkness a dark patch on my hand. Woke up decided to get some help by walking to Sam’s room across the corridor. Knocking on his door and calling his name all I heard was a moan ( apparently he thought he could hear noise (me) coming from the window and did know it was me until I started talking to dave. So next to him I started knocking on Dave’s door. Told Dave I had been stabbed and need to go to the hospital, whole thing seem kind of surreal and took a few seconds for both of us to understand what was happening. Dave rushed around looking for the male warden, couldn’t manage to get him up so went to look for the female warden over the other building at the female hostel. While Dave was trying to explain what happened to me ( I found this out later) he said something along the lines of “Luca has scissor in his side” trying to get over the language barrier and I guess trying to keep the words simple , she apparently interpreted it as ”Luca has caused suicide”. Eventually she worked out what happen but was too scared to see the blood so we eventually the Bangladeshi’s help me out by driving to the hospital. After a few needles, xray’s and one stitch luckily no internal damage was done I was fine to go home. On a better note I rang the scuba diving place this afternoon and it looks like I might start my open water diving course as early as next week. Maybe not such a good idea trying to do this during exam period but it doesn’t seem to intensive and also hoping to do some diving during the semester break . The island we were looking at was Perhentian Island http://gardkarlsen.com/Malaysia_Perhentian_Island.htm and also up north there are apparently some of the best scuba diving places in the world.

SH*T! Must've been pretty scary to be in hospital in another country. I can't believe there was only one stich. I wouldn't have thought that would be enough for a stab wound (considering the possibility of internal damage) and asked for another opinion.

After getting my stiches removed I asked the doctor what happened if it touched anything inside. Apprently it was close to my liver, and depending on the damage sometimes they need to remove bit that are damaged. lol I was happy to hear good news so I didn't want to get another opinion :)
